I’ve been having a few weeks of feeling unspecified anxiety in my body. That annoying feeling of being overwhelmed and on edge, without knowing exactly why. It can really throw me because my problem solving mind wants to find the root of the anxiety, but as you probably know, there isn’t always a clear one. So I thought I’d share with you a practice that I use to help me with this feeling: my daily check in for anxiety.
Essentially there are 3 main steps, summarised below. I’d really encourage you to listen to the video as it will help explain what you do in each step and why!
So here we go – Daily Check in for Anxiety:
- Pause and take stock – Where am I feeling this? How is my body feeling? How is my breath
- Take a few breaths
- Ask: What is it that I need right now?
I hope you found the video helpful. If you have favourite ways you’d like to share with me or if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly.
